How to use CNC plasma cutting machine for beginners?

Preparation before operation

1. Before energizing the CNC plasma cutting machine, you must check whether all the switches are in the off position and whether the rotary switch at the rear is in the horizontal position.


2. Before starting the machine, turn on the power of the main distribution cabinet, so that the 2 cables are electrified.


3. Move the circuit breaker in the electrical cabinet of the CNC plasma cutter to ON position.


4. Turn on the system control power supply with the key switch, and the main interface of the monitor should appear at this time.


5. Turn the rotary switch on the back of the plasma power supply 90° to the vertical position, the equipment power indicator light.


6. Turn on the air compressor (compressor flow rate of 1m3/min), adjust the air compressor pressure control switch so that the compressor output air pressure is 6.1-8.2Bar.


7. After connecting the machine (be sure to connect the safety grounding wire), check carefully, if everything is normal, you can proceed to the next step.


8.Close the power switch to supply power to the machine.


Note: The input AC current should not be too small, otherwise the machine will not work properly. At the same time to check the fan should be in line with the provisions of the machine, otherwise the phase of the input power supply should be adjusted until the direction of rotation is consistent.


9. The “power switch” is placed in the ‘ON’ position, at this time the “power indicator” is bright, but the "phase loss indicator "Should not be lit, otherwise it means that the three-phase power supply has a lack of phase phenomenon, should be checked and resolved.


Note: If the safety ground wire is not properly connected to the main unit, the phase loss indicator may show incorrect results.


12 Simple Steps to Operate CNC Plasma Cutting Machine

Step 1: Check whether the inlet pressure of the plasma power supply meets the requirements and whether there is an emergency signal when the plasma power supply is turned on.


Step 2: Press Start Cutting to check whether the plasma power supply has started the emergency signal after the torch positioning action; if there is an emergency signal, please troubleshoot the problem according to the manual of the plasma power supply.


Step 3: Open the switch of controlling numerical control in the workshop power distribution cabinet, open the total power supply of the cutting machine cabinet, open the power supply of dust controller and start the dust collector.


Step 4: After the digital control system is fully activated, rotate the emergency stop switch to the right, rotate the power button to the right, and energize the driver.


Step 5, customize each axis back to zero, check and replace the plasma wearing parts, close the plasma power circuit breaker.


Step 6, turn on the oxygen and compressed air, each gas pressure is 6bar +-10%.


Step 7. Call the cutting program and the database corresponding to this program for correction.


Step 8. Save the starting point of the program to a reference point, turn on the plasma power supply and adjust the gas settings.


Step 9. Start cutting, press the start cutting button, the CNC system accepts the external signal and then sends out the start cutting signal or the CNC cutting system sends out the cutting signal directly, select the plasma torch and then the control system rises, the plasma torch performs the positioning action, the torch nozzle touches the steel plate and then rises up to the perforation height, the h8 adjusts the control system to complete the positioning action and then sends out the start cutting to the plasma power supply After completing the positioning action, h8 control system sends a signal to the plasma power supply to start cutting and starts to lead the arc to perforate, and after the perforation is completed, the plasma torch starts to cut the metal.


Step 10: If there is any problem in the middle of the process, press the stop button to stop cutting and continue cutting after eliminating the problem.


Step 11. After cutting, turn off the machine power supply, computer power supply, plasma power supply and each gas valve.


Step 12.Finally, clean the CNC plasma cutting table and refuel for maintenance and repair.


6 Important Things to Consider

CNC plasma cutting machine should master some details when working, otherwise it is easy to fail due to unstable cutting quality and frequent replacement of wearing parts.


1, CNC plasma cutting machine should adopt a reasonable cutting distance.


According to the requirements of the manual, the use of reasonable cutting distance, that is, the distance from the cutting nozzle to the surface of the metal parts, perforation try to use the normal cutting distance of 8 times or the plasma arc can be transmitted out of the maximum hXNUMX distance.


2. CNC plasma cutting should start from the edge.

4. The cutting torch and consumables should be kept as clean as possible.


Any dirt on the torch and consumables will greatly affect the function of the plasma system. When replacing consumables, place them on a clean flannel, check the torch's connecting rib frequently, and clean the electrical contact surfaces and nozzle with a hydrogen peroxide-based cleaner.


5. The cutting nozzle should not be overloaded.


Overloading the nozzle (i.e., exceeding the nozzle's operating amperage) will cause the nozzle to fail more quickly. Amperage should be 95% of the nozzle's operating current. For example, a 100A nozzle should be set at 9 or higher.


6. The thickness of the perforation should be within the allowable range of the CNC plasma cutting system.


Small CNC plasma cutting machines should not be perforated for more than the working thickness of the steel plate, the general perforation thickness of 1/2 the normal cutting thickness.
